Trailer for CINERAMA and HOW THE WEST WAS WON.

This trailer, heralding the advent of CINERAMA as the new wonder of the age, begins with a thumbnail sketch of the history of the cinema. then we see an artists impression of CINERAMA and drawings depicting scenes from HOW THE WEST WAS WON: the first feature film made in this three camera, three projector method, now defunct (superseded by Super-Panavision and 70mm).

Interesting for the galaxy of stars who appear in the film, and for a flavour of the excitement which CINERAMA briefly created at the time. A very blotchy print from an obviously well worn master, but fairly good sound. Recommended for connoisseurs of cinema history. SS

Footnote: This item might be worth adding to the 'scope 4 reeler that the Widescreen Centre hope to have in stock about April 1984. KW

Footnote: 14/01/2000 The 4 reeler was never released. A scope trailer is available.
